As I looked into the fabled water of dreams, I saw my swimming success, 1st place at the Olympics, being celebrated. I basked in the glory. Looking at my watch, I realised it was getting very late, so I decided I would return tomorrow. I started to stand up, but the dream shifted. Now I was being engulfed in a bright white flame while everything and everyone I knew was burned down around me. I sprinted the fast as I could back to my house. I had just seen my worst nightmare, and it was even worse than I’d imagined.
100 Word Challenge Week #7
Breathe in, breathe out. I tried calming myself down. I tried telling myself that everything would work itself out. It’s fine that I’m being framed for a crime I didn’t commit, totally fine. A guard pushed me into a dark cell. I was trying not to cry. The guard threw the door closed. As the door slammed, I knew I was ruined. All because of my unlucky timing. Just because I exited school exactly 12 seconds before it blew up, doesn’t mean I blew it up. I may never able to ever prove my innocence, but I can prove my insanity.

Hacking shrubbery out of the way, I blinked tears out of my eyes. My best friend Alistair had been missing for two weeks. I was sick of being thrown sympathetic looks. Something had happened to Alistair and I was going to find out what it was.
Tripping over a root, I stumbled into a clearing. Banging my head on a rock, my vision blurred slightly. I stood up carefully, wobbling around a little bit. I noticed a pond Just ahead. I went over to it. “Lillian” I heard someone call. “Alistair” I giggled, then fell head first into the pond.

Walking to school, I twisted my hair into a bun. Once I was a few meters from school, I heard the first bell ring. Running now, my high heel got caught in a crack and I flipped forwards. Darn high heels, I thought, so difficult to walk in. I picked up the shoe and it’s disconnected purple heel. rushing to class, I flung open the door. “Hello class” I said. “My name is Professor Violet Crocodile, Ms. Crocodile to you. A boy in the back launched a surprisingly accurate basketball throw at my head. Could this day get any worse?

Looking at my friend Xavier, I realised his backpack was half-empty! “Xavi!” I exclaimed “Your backpack!” He abruptly stopped. Pivoting around, he queried, “Where did it go?” I loved my friend, but he was a bit dim-witted. “It’s on your back” I explained. Taking it off, he ruffled through it. “At least we still have the map!” He said. Turning around, we saw a river. Xavier looked confused. “It’s not on the map” he announced. Warily, I asked ” so, what lies ahead of it?” “Nothing!” he exclaimed “the map just ends!” Sighing I decided we would deal with it later.

Smiling, I took in the picturesque valley. A small smile tugged a the corners of my mouth. Resting my eyes on the rolling plains stretching out as far as the eye could see, I smiled. For once in my extremely chaotic city life, I felt totally at ease. Suddenly, I heard a roar. Probably nothing, I brushed it off as I climbed down the hill. I heard another roar, and noticed some very large footprints below me. My easy feeling had evaporated. Those countryside buggers can deal with it, I thought, as I made my way back to the city.

I crawled through the fence of the house I’d just broken into. I scooted around a patch of scarlet flowers to avoid her gardener as he watered the flowers. An annoying inconvenience. Tiptoeing along the porch, I made sure not to make any noise. As I made my way inside, I heard some violin playing in the background. Creeping through the house picking up valuables as I went, I finished quickly. Making my way back down the stairs, I heard a creaking from upstairs. Running now, I found myself sprawled on the ground after tripping over a pillow. Life sucks.
100 Word Challenge Week 41
Carefully threading the needle, I looked at the nearly finished product. The beautiful, delicate dress I’d been working on for the last month. I was so close to the finish line, I could taste it. All that was left was to hand-sew the buttons on. Gently picking up the dress, I started sewing, when all of a sudden, I felt a prick on my finger. It’s nothing I thought, ignoring it. Squinting at the fabric, I shook my head. It looked…red. Panicking, I realised it was red! I was bleeding heavily! “AAAAAAAAAAAAGGGHH” was the last thing I heard before fainting.

I put on my colourful sunhat and stepped onto the beach with jandles on my feet. It was a scorching day, so I’d slathered sunblock all over myself. Sitting down on my fluffy towel, I watched the sparkling, crystal blue waves. Enjoying some hokey-pokey ice-cream in the warm sunshine, I had decided to take a swim, but then the weather changed dramatically. A long and dark cloud blocked the sunshine as a gale of wind blew my towel down the beach. Rubbing my eyes furiously, I stood up with sand in my eyes and mouth and walked home. Typical Wellington.
100 Word Challenge Week #36
I looked down at the chocolate egg that I’d just dropped on the floor. I was just about to pick it up when I saw something crawling over it. Yuck, I thought, ants. I looked closer and realised that the ants were…. orange and blue? What the heck? I picked the egg up and put it on a plate. I got out my magnifying glass and looked down at the multicoloured ants. They were miniature people! I stumbled backwards and ran to the phone to call some scientists with my discovery. I was definitely going to be rich and famous!
