100 Word Challenge Week #37

I put on my colourful sunhat and stepped onto the beach with jandles on my feet. It was a scorching day, so I’d slathered sunblock all over myself. Sitting down on my  fluffy towel, I watched the sparkling, crystal blue waves. Enjoying some hokey-pokey ice-cream in the warm sunshine, I had decided to take a swim, but then the weather changed dramatically. A long and dark cloud blocked the sunshine as a gale of wind blew my towel down the beach. Rubbing my eyes furiously, I stood up with sand in my eyes and mouth and walked home. Typical Wellington.

I looked down at the chocolate egg that I’d just dropped on the floor. I was just about to pick it up when I saw something crawling over it. Yuck, I thought, ants. I looked closer and realised that the ants were…. orange and blue? What the heck? I picked the egg up and put it on a plate. I got out my magnifying glass and looked down at the multicoloured ants. They were miniature people! I stumbled backwards and ran to the phone to call some scientists with my discovery. I was definitely going to be rich and famous!

100 Word Challenge Week 33

I counted “one, two-” Then a flash of lightning lit up the sky. Only two kilometres away, I thought, better hurry. I started running against the wind and the rain. I just had to cross the road now. I stepped onto the road just in time to see a bus screeching towards me. I tried to yell out but it was too late. In the flash of lightning, I saw my life flash before my eyes, then darkness.
